How to unfreeze TRX
Unstaking TRX removes energy production and starts an unlock wait. Learn the order: undelegate first, then unfreeze, then withdraw.
Unfreeze is a two-phase exit, not a refund button
Under Stake 2.0 you unstake, wait through the protocol unlock period, then withdraw. Legacy freeze had its own lock window. In both worlds, TRX does not jump back to your spendable balance in the same confirmation that starts the exit.
Energy that stake was producing drops when you unstake. If you unfreeze to “pay the USDT fee in TRX,” you often destroy the cheap path (energy) and still cannot use the TRX until unlock completes. Plan the USDT send before you start unstake.
Undelegate before you pull the stake
If you delegated energy to another address, undelegate (after that delegation’s own lock) before unstaking. Trying to unwind in the wrong order is a common “cannot undelegate” or “cannot unfreeze” loop. The chain is enforcing resource accounting, not punishing you.
If someone delegated energy to you, you cannot unfreeze their TRX. Your EnergyLimit will fall when they undelegate or their unstake finishes. Borrowed energy is not a balance you withdraw.
What you should see on-chain during the wait
After unstake, frozen or staked TRX should decline and EnergyLimit should fall if that stake targeted energy. The TRX sits in an unlocking state until the wait ends. TronLink’s resource tab usually shows the countdown; this site’s frozen checker shows the public freeze/stake snapshot.
If EnergyLimit does not fall, you may have unstaked a bandwidth lock, or inbound delegated energy is still holding the ceiling up. Read both sources before opening a support ticket with a stranger.
Scams appear at the waiting step
The unlock delay is when fake “accelerators” appear: pay TRX to skip the wait, paste a seed to “release frozen funds,” connect to a DApp that requests account permission. None of those are protocol features. The wait is the wait.
This independent desk will never offer to skip an unfreeze lock. Optional deep scan does not shorten it. It is read-only, about 2–3 TRX, and never asks for a seed phrase.
Withdraw only after the wait, then re-check energy
When the unlock completes, withdraw in the same wallet that holds the keys. Then paste the address here if you still need to send USDT — you likely need to stake again or rent energy, because the meter you just dismantled was what made TRC20 cheap.

FAQ
Can I unfreeze TRX instantly?
You can start unstake immediately, but TRX is withdrawable only after the protocol unlock wait. Energy from that stake goes away when you unstake.
Why did energy disappear after I unfroze?
That stake was minting EnergyLimit. Unstaking stops production. Remaining energy for USDT sends will drop.
I delegated energy. Can I unfreeze?
Undelegate after the delegation lock, then unstake. Pulling stake while energy is still delegated is a common failure.
Can a website skip the unfreeze wait?
No. Anyone offering to skip the lock for a fee or a seed phrase is running a scam.
Does unfreeze cost energy?
Unstake is a transaction and may consume bandwidth or a small resource amount, but the main effect is losing the energy the stake produced.
Will this site unfreeze TRX for me?
No. Unfreeze in your wallet. We only read public stake and resource fields.
Where do I ask about a stuck unlock?
@wholetron, with the T-address and transaction hash only — never a seed phrase.
