Stake TRX for energy
How Stake 2.0 mints TRON energy, how to delegate after staking, and why unstake uses an unlock wait instead of instant freeze release.
Stake 2.0 is how TRON mints energy now
You lock TRX with a resource type of energy (or bandwidth). The account’s EnergyLimit rises. You can keep that energy for your own USDT sends or delegate it to another address. The staked TRX is not the energy; it is the capital that produces energy.
Older freeze still appears in conversation and in some UI copy. If your wallet offers Stake 2.0, use it for new locks so delegation and undelegate rules match what markets and this site describe.
Stake versus rent versus burn
Stake when you send TRC20 often and can leave TRX locked. Rent delegated energy when you send rarely. Burn TRX only as an accident you are trying to stop. Those three options are the whole fee strategy on TRON for contract calls.
Staking for energy will not fix a bandwidth-only problem. Choose the resource to match the transaction type you actually broadcast.
Delegation is an optional second step
After staking for energy, DelegateResource can point some of that energy at another T-address for a lock period. That is how you help a friend send USDT, and how rental desks operate. You do not send them your TRX; you point resource at them.
Do not delegate to an address a stranger pasted in Telegram “so they can process your ticket.” Delegation is a resource gift. Treat it like sending value.
Unstake wait is part of the product
Unstaking starts an unlock delay. Energy production from that stake stops; TRX withdraw comes later. There is no official skip. Pages that offer instant unstake for a seed phrase are theft; pages that offer instant unstake for an extra TRX payment are also theft.
If energy is still delegated out, undelegate after that lock before unstaking. Wrong order produces the cannot-undelegate problem, not a faster exit.
Confirm the stake with a public read
After TronLink confirms, paste the address into the frozen-TRX checker and the energy checker. EnergyLimit should move if you chose energy. This site does not stake for you and is not the TRON Foundation.
Optional deep scan is read-only, about 2–3 TRX. Help: @wholetron, public address or stake tx only. No seed phrases.
FAQ
What does staking TRX for energy do?
It locks TRX so the account mints EnergyLimit. The TRX is not spent; it is unavailable until you unstake and wait out unlock.
Is Stake 2.0 required?
It is the current staking design. New locks should use it so delegation behaves as wallets and rental markets expect.
Can I stake for energy and still send that TRX?
Not the staked amount. Liquid TRX remains spendable; staked TRX is locked.
How is staking different from renting energy?
Staking uses your TRX and your unlock wait. Renting uses someone else’s stake as a temporary delegation you pay for.
Does staking need a seed phrase on a website?
No. Sign a stake transaction in TronLink. Websites that ask for a seed to stake are stealing the wallet.
Can I delegate energy after staking?
Yes. DelegateResource points energy at another address for a lock period without sending them your TRX.
Will this site stake TRX for me?
No. Independent public screen only. Optional deep scan does not stake and costs about 2–3 TRX as a read-only fee.
